Compare anyone to Brian Wilson and they fall short. Al brought Brian Sloop John B and look (listen, actually) how Brian tuned that tune into a masterpiece.

Compare AL to Al and Postcards is a very fine collection of song and a very positive listening experience.

Brian Wilson has made a history of hits reimagining, beginning with Chuck Berry, The Four Freshman then previous rock & roll and R & B hits like Hushabye and Do You Wanna Dance and Barbara Ann and Why Do Fools Fall In Love, folk-chanty Sloop John B, Immediately recognizable yet completely Wilsonesque.

Yes, is a bit far, but sounds like a great line-up! Guess I can't ask the Spanish for a free air ticket for letting them win our World Cup! Thanks for the support for the site.

love the cover

gives me high hopes for the music

i'm hoping for something really far out

gershwin psychedelicized as only brian wilson could do

the cover picture to me suggests brian wilson taking that music and interpreting it thorugh his lsd fried brain, until it pours outta the speakers in vibrant mind bending colors

does he still have it in him? maybe not, maybe it will be a pretty conventional record since all his other solo records have been but ... i can always hope!

Mike Love Statement on The Beach Boys 50th Anniversary

As The Beach Boys approach the 2011-2012 touring season, which will mark their 50th anniversary as a band, speculation continues to grow among fans and media as to reunion possibilities among all the original surviving members. In response to recent stories Mike Love had the following comments:

“The Beach Boys continue to tour approximately 150 shows a year in multiple countries. At this time there are no plans for my cousin Brian to rejoin the tour. He has new solo projects on the horizon and I wish him love and success. We have had some discussions of writing and possibly recording together, but nothing has been planned. I, as I’m sure he is, am proud and honored that The Beach Boys music has endured these 50 years, but felt the need to clarify that there are no current 'reunion' tour plans.”
